Foundations of Church Planting Home Mission Board Seminar April 27 and 28, 2012 Foundations of Church Planting is a seminar presented by the Home Mission Board. The goal is to consider the unique challenges of church planting in the context of the RPCNA and to provide basic training for those interested in the work of church planting. The conference has in mind especially those preparing for ministry in a church plant or those currently ministering in a new work, but it will be open to any who wish to attend. The seminar will be led by three different pastors who, by God’s grace, have practical experience in the field of church planting. Dave Long pastors the Lafayette, IN RPC which has overseen the daughtering of two congregations. Harry Metzger planted the Westminster RPC near Chicago and now pastors North Hills RPC which daughtered Grace RPC in Gibsonia, PA. Bruce Parnell planted the Stillwater, OK RPC which in turn has daughtered the Enid, OK congregation. The seminar will cover a selection of foundational subjects from the conviction and perspective of Reformed theology and distinctives of the RPCNA. For a list of the topics, see our Facebook page. The seminar will be hosted by the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA. Supper will be provided Friday evening along with lunch on Saturday between the morning and afternoon sessions. The cost of the meals is built into your conference registration ($25).
